Circle Maps

Despite spending two weeks on the Civil War my USH students were apprehensive about doing a Lincoln cirle map.....they requested time in order to do some research...some of the more interesting things they discovered were...Lincoln was the first President to wear a beard..was the first to be born outside the boundries of the 13 original states..the only president to have a PATENT...the first to favor women's rights ..he made the traditional Thanksgiving celebration a nationwide holiday to be commemorated on the fourth Thursday of November..he never owned a slave during his life..& yes the first to be assassinated while in office..plus he never once was photographed with his wife Mary..Hope you learned a little more about our 16th President

My mantra has been repeat,review,repeat in order for my students to assimilate the pertinent information in my lessons (standards). Perhaps because we are 50+ days into the year I'm not reinforcing as I once was. This part of the video helps with my self motivation & reminds me of the academic difficulties experienced by the MERIT population.....
